Phuket Open Boat 2021 Wrap Up
Northrop & Johnson’s Thailand office kicked off the Thailand yachting high season with the Phuket Open Boat, November 11 and 12. Phuket’s luxury yacht and tourism industry professionals were invited to the event where 17 yachts, for sale and for charter, were on display and available for inspection at the Phuket Yacht Haven Marina.
Northrop & Johnson was delighted to have the 115’ (34m) charter yacht XANADU OF LONDON at the event. Just coming out of a two-year, multi-million-dollar refit, XANADU OF LONDON stole the show with her impressive good looks. The yacht’s Captain, Mark Wilkinson exclaimed “I was so proud showing her in the event. I don’t think photos do her enough justice; you need to be onboard to appreciate her in all her glory. I’m still just blown away by how good she looks, like a new yacht.”
Event Organizer and N&J Charter Broker Lies Sol comments on the event saying, “Despite heavy rain and a huge traffic jam on Thepkassatri Road due to a Buddhist Monk blessing procession, we had a better-than-expected turn-out, especially on Friday. Everyone mentioned they were happy to participate in such a positive event, showing charter yachts in time for the high season, catching up with colleagues, and making new connections.”
