Hi, I'm Mimi, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Northrop & Johnson team as a Charter Broker, bringing over 30 years of expertise in the yachting industry. My role involves curating a bespoke service for each charter, emphasizing the uniqueness of every experience. One of my key responsibilities is to find the perfect yacht and crew to not only meet but exceed my clients' expectations, all while ensuring the best possible rates. What I love most about my job is the opportunity to turn dreams into reality.
What makes my position truly special is my deep appreciation for culinary arts. As a devoted "foodie" with a passion for cooking, I've had the privilege of savoring some of the most extraordinary meals prepared by outstanding chefs onboard yachts. It's a unique aspect of my role that allows me to convey to clients the incredible culinary experiences they can anticipate, adding an extra layer of excitement to their charter journey. I look forward to continuing this enriching journey with Northrop & Johnson.
My Past
Born in the North of England I was privileged to have spent many summers on family yachts cruising the warm Mediterranean and discovering some of the most beautiful places in Europe!
After buying and selling a few yachts my father decided to move to the south of France and set up his own yacht brokerage where I worked with him and my sister for over 20 years running the charter department and gaining a huge knowledge and experience in all aspects of charter and specializing in corporate events such as the Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival.
Being in the yachting industry I met (and married!) a captain and have spent a few winters working with him as a crew chef which was a great experience seeing yachting from the crew side.
Previously before joining N&J, I spent nearly six years for a boutique yacht brokerage running the charter department and gaining an in-depth knowledge of the Transport contract which has the huge advantage of reducing the VAT on charters starting in France to 10% and even 0% in certain cases! – I am also an individual MYBA member and serve on one of the committees.
My Future
My commitment to happy clients is always my main goal – I plan to continue offering the highest level of knowledge, service and attention to detail to ensure clients dreams do come true! For first-time charterers, the whole experience can seem a bit daunting so I will hold their hand through the whole procedure insisting there are never enough questions and my phone is always on!
